Wizard World St. Louis 2018 Preview

Ladies and Geeks, it is once again that time of year.  The time when Wizard World Comic Con will be gracing our humble city of St. Louis with its presence.  If you intend to be in or around the St. Louis area this weekend, then head over to the America’s Center at 701 Convention Plaza and hang out with some of your favorite movie, television, and voice actors as well as some of the best artists around, this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday February 2-4.  This year’s lineup features some pretty big stars from the world of Geek pop culture.  Would you like to meet the founder of Marvel comics?  Wish granted!  Would you like to see multiple cast members from The Lord of the Rings answer questions about their trek through Middle Earth?  Wish granted!  Would you like to ask Captain Jack Harkness whether he truly is the Face of Boe or not?  Wish granted!

This does not even begin to touch on all the entertainment possibilities present at the convention this weekend.  How would you like to learn to play Quidditch?  Well, the Webster University Quidditch team will be holding  session all weekend in room 150 explaining everything you need to know to be the next great Seeker.  Are you a comedy fan?  Comedy Sportz St. Louis’ Mike Gregorek will be holding “Nerdprov” on Friday night.  Or would you rather hop on stage and belt out a karaoke version of your favorite tune?  Sign up at the Entertainment stage for Wizard World karaoke happening Friday and Saturday.  Have children, you say?  Is there anything for THEM at the convention, you ask?  Of course there is!  Not only is there a children’s costume contest both Saturday and Sunday, but this weekend offers free face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon art, magic shows, puppet shows, and jedi training!  Last, but certainly not least, if your kids are 10 or under…up to TWO can get in free for every paid admission of a parent.  Bring the whole family!

Get your tickets here or just head to the America’s Center box office.  Three-Day weekend admissions will run you $79.95 plus $15.32 service charge.  Friday only admission runs $39.95 plus $8.68.  Saturday only runs $49.95 plus $10.34.  And finally, the Sunday only admission will run you $44.95 plus $9.51 in fees.  Obviously, the three day pass is your best value.  But don’t pass up a chance to attend if you can’t be there all weekend.  A one day pass is more than worth the cost!  Be sure to check the full list of programming here to be certain your favorite celeb will be in attendance the same day(s) as you!

8daysageek.com will be in attendance all weekend and you’ll likely find this geek at the John Barrowman panel.  Captain Jack Harkness is my must-see guest.  As a huge Doctor Who fan, this is the panel I am looking forward to more than any others.  Although, the chance to see the king himself Stan Lee speak…is likely something I can’t pass up either.  Follow us on Twitter @8daysageek to let us know who your pick for must-see guest is this weekend and to see pics of the great cosplays from this year’s show.  We’ll see you there.  Allons y!!
