I’m a practical geek. I like to use technology to further my progress and to make life easier. Using technology in this way is what gets me closest to being Bruce Wayne, and I like that. Because of this, my Droid RAZR is filled with more practical apps than games, and I’m always looking for something that can make normally mundane tasks cool. In that vein, I give you the review for the Chase mobile banking app. This banking app is cool because of the features that it has. These features are what keep this app from being just another mobile banking app. One of these features is the ability to deposit checks with your phone. This is very convenient and saves a trip to the ATM or branch. All you have to do is take a picture of the check and then hit deposit and it is in your account. It’s not as easy as it sounds, however. I mean, it works, but after 2-3 tries. Most of the time it’s due to the picture of the check not being recognized by the app because of poor quality. It’s funny because the commercials show people being able to deposit checks with their phone from anywhere. But I highly doubt they can do so with the ease that the commercials want you to think so. A very cool feature of this app is Chase Quick Pay. This feature allows you to send someone money via your phone by using their email address or phone number. This cuts out the middle man, and always makes things easier because you don’t have to wait for a check or cash to get paid. The good thing about this feature is that only one of you needs to have a Chase account. The rest of the features are pretty standard when it comes to mobile banking apps. You have the ability to manage multiple accounts, pay bills, and even find the closest ATM or branch. You can also complete transfers using this app. These transfers can be completed via wire transfer or a transfer between different accounts. In order to complete a transfer between two accounts, however, you must already have the second account on your Chase banking profile. This can be done by visiting the Chase online banking website. Overall, this app has features that can make life easier, if you have a little patience. The interface is clean and easily understandable, but the look of the app is very bland. In the end, the features available are the only things that make this app stand out, but not enough to put it too far ahead of the pack.

About Steven Brewer

I’m a lifelong comic book fan. Comics pulled me in at an early age, with influences ranging from Chris Claremont’s historic X-Men run, Walt Simonson’s Thor run, Mike Zeck’s run on The Punisher limited series, Jim Lee’s X-Men, the early 90’s X-Men animated series, and the best cartoon ever made, Batman: The Animated Series. As a kid, these comics and cartoons gave me a new world to go to when the real world wasn’t so nice. Because of this, comic books will always have a special place in my heart. I love everything about comics, and still get the same feeling reading them today as I did when I was a kid. My major in college was psychology, so I love to incorporate that into comics.
