TWIG: My least favorite game/favorite character

Dang it, Dante! Anime, video games, fan art, coat and glove replications. I can’t get away from you, but I don’t want to either. I’ve never been able to play through a DMC game all the way, and it makes me feel bad because Dante is one of my favorite characters, despite the twincest that some of the DMC fandom is a bit obsessed with. The game mechanics drive me away after a while, but with the new HD edition being released…

I’ll probably give it another try.

GO!

DanteHDCollection

Devil May Cry Collection

Release Date: April 3rd, 2012

Systems: PS3, X360

Includes Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3. This is the original PlayStation trilogy. Some of you might be aware of the existence of DMC 4, but that isn’t Dante. That’s some other dude, who is as equally badass as Dante, but I can’t remember his name so…  it doesn’t matter! DMC4 is on the 360 and PS3, if you want it, and now you can 1 through 3 to complete the current series, until they come out with a DMC 5, which in my head I call Dante’s Return.

Devil May Cry

Originally released in 2001, Devil May Cry introduces Dante, a professional demon hunter driven by the single-minded urge for revenge. Convinced to join the struggle against a demon emperor, Dante’s skill, style and attitude will lead to a range of experiences, but many things in life, as well as death are not necessarily what they seem. The game features mission-based leveled combat, that introduces the franchises graded style-based combat, as well as powerful “Devil Trigger” functionality, which temporarily transforms Dante with demonic powers.

Devil May Cry 2

Released in 2003, Devil May Cry 2 centers on Dante and his new devilishly agile partner Lucia in their fight to defeat a man hell-bent on achieving supreme power through the raising of a terrifyingly dangerous demon. In addition to the graded combat and demonic powers seen in the earlier release, the game contains new defenses abilities and upgraded existing abilities.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening

Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition is the definitive edition of Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening. The game is a prequel to the entire series, that explores the shaping of Dante’s character leading up to the events of the original game. The game features an updated combat system that allows the player to select from multiple combat styles that can be altered at different points in the game. Along with the original game, this special edition released in 2006 features a number of enhancements, including the opportunity to play as Dante’s twin brother, Vergil, and the addition of the Bloody Palace Mode and the Turbo Mode.

StarWarsKinect

Star Wars Kinect

Release Date: April 3rd, 2012

Systems: PS3, X360

Oh boy! Story modes, co-op modes, dance modes, dueling modes, pod racing modes! There is a ton of stuff to do in this game, and it’s full priced, so there better be. Hopefully this game tracks your motion better than some of the other Kinect games I’ve played. A lot of people still aren’t that big of a fan of the Kinect, but this is Star Wars, and it is the closest a lot of us will come to being Jedi, so, for me, this game looks like a lot of fun, despite the strange looking people in the graphics. The droids and backgrounds look a lot better.

Plus, there is a thing called Rancor Rampage, where you get to pretend you’re a Rancor and rage in Jabba’s palace. How does that not sound like an absolute blast?

Feel the Force.

You are the Controller.

“Kinect Star Wars™” brings Star Wars to life like never before. Harnessing the controller-free power of Kinect for Xbox 360, “Kinect Star Wars” allows fans to physically hone their Jedi skills, wield the power of the Force in their hands, pilot iconic ships and vehicles, rampage as a vicious Rancor monster or even dance with iconic Star Wars characters. Using full body motions, players can live out the ultimate Star Wars fantasy to use the Force, battle with a Lightsaber and more — no controller required.
