52 Pickup: The DC Shuffle – I, Vampire

I originaly saw this book as a joke, a way for DC to cash in on the young hot vampire craze. If you look at the cover you get that Twilight or True Blood feel, but trust me, this book is much, much darker than either of those. Joshua Hale Fialkov (Pilot Season: Cyblade) creates some very dark shapeshifting vampires, and Andrea Sorrentino (God of War) draws the book very dark, almost too dark.

I feel this should be more exciting

The series isn’t off to a strong start, but it is much better than I expected. The story is pretty plain, a “good” vampire versus “bad” I don’t know, I was bored during this story. I don’t want to sit here and trash this book non stop, it had some good. I liked the designs, I liked the references to the larger DC universe. I just don’t see enough good to continue reading. The bad is noticable, bad dialogue, bad storyline, and art that is almost too hard to follow.

ZZZ ZZZ ZZZ Whu!... ZZZ ZZZ

I give this boring mess a JACK, it had some interesting moments, but it still sucked pretty bad.

Where was the Hooded Lady? Napping most likely.

I bet she was hoping they would kill her.
