Zombieland Writers to create Deadpool screenplay

Most of us can agree that Zombieland was a pretty good movie, right? Witty and funny, tugged at your heart strings just a little. (Tallahassee, I love you man.)

20th Century Fox chose Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers behind Zombieland, to create the screenplay for Deadpool–Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool, to be exact.

Reynolds will be back as the smartass antihero/mercenary/hot guy (I’m a girl, at least give me that much) that he was in X-Men Origins: Wolverwine. Since he’ll be filming Green Lantern first, common sense will tell us that this project will start after filming is wrapped with that project.

Variety reads, “Reese and Wernick, who wrote “Zombieland,” will stay true to the mythology of “Deadpool” given that Reynolds is a huge fan and protector of the property.”
