Wizard World St. Louis 2014 Recap

Another year brings us to another St. Louis Wizard World Comic Con.  This year was WOW.  The convention took place in one of the halls of the America’s Center last year and attendance quickly surpassed that hall’s capacity.  This year Wizard World took over one of the center’s biggest venues, The Edward Jones Dome.  Attendance was leaps and bounds over last year’s just showing that if you build it, they will come.  While we have a lot of photos below, this is just a very small part of what there is to see at a Wizard World Comic Con.

The Booths

There were so many great booths at the con this year including the very popular Ultrasabers, the Halo Drop Pod Experience, and T-shirts/swag galore.

The Costumes

As always a con draws together the talented and most devoted of fans and compels them to dress as their favorite characters from an infinite number of intellectual properties.

The Celebrities

Last year’s showing for celebrities was great with a little bit of fun for everyone, yet this years line up was dazzling. Big names such as Nathan Fillion, William Shatner, Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin, and Manu Bennet showed up to meet their fans and hand out autographs (or in Alan Tudyk’s case, “here, take some shit”.  Tukyk spent most of the Firefly panel signing and handing out random things from his messenger bag.)

Overall, this year’s Wizard World St. Louis was what a convention should be.  Cons are a time to meetup with friends you may only see once a year as you geek out over your love of (insert infinite number of topics here) and maybe get to meet your heroes.  Wizard has been, was, and most likely will always be able to bring this geek community together in cities all over the U.S.

We here at 8 Days a Geek would like to thank Wizard for giving geeks everywhere a place to be geeks.
