There may not be a lot going on this week regarding game releases, but what is getting released is really good. More Batman, more of a Sony powerhouse, and some pretty Japanese stuff that none of you will like, and I’m probably including only for myself. (Get on the JPRG bandwagon, hitos!) The crashing and racing game also looks like it could hold someone’s (read: my) interest for a while.
Resistance: Burning Skies
Release Date: May 29, 2012
Playstation Vita
A Resistance game specifically made for the Vita, utilizing all of its neat little features. I’ve yet to get my hands on one, so… friends. Who is going to solve this problem for me?
From IGN:

Dietz, author of Resistance: The Gathering Storm and Resistance: A Hole in the Sky. DiRT Showdown
Release Date: May 29, 2012
Xbox 360, PC, PS3
Crash, boom. Crunch. The more terror you cause the other cars, the better for you. These graphics look beautiful, and as realistic as you can get when it comes to digital car terror. I’d much rather see it on my television then in real life.
Manufacturers Description: DiRT Showdown is the new arcade racing game from the team that brought you the award-winning DiRT series, uncaged in 2012. Pick up and play controls combine with electrifying events, frenzied crowds and stunning graphics to deliver high octane, dive in and drive thrills from event one. |
Batman: Arkham City – Harley Quinn’s Revenge
Release Date: May 29, 2012
Xbox 360, PS3, PC
There a few reasons I am excited for this DLC. You’ll read below that this is included the Game of the Year edition of Arkham City, releasing on the same day.
1) More Akrham City, yeah!
2) Robin, yeah! I play better as him anyway.
3) I’ll take all the Harley I can get. Will there be some more Poison Ivy too? I hope.
From IGN: Extend the multi-award winning experience in Arkham City with Harley Quinn’s Revenge, the final chapter in Batman: Arkham City that adds more than two hours of original gameplay. Harley Quinn’s Revenge sends players back into Arkham City to face their final challenge as they interchange between playing as both Batman and Robin. Utilize each of the characters’ unique combat and investigative skills to uncover Harley’s vengeful plan and shut the gates on the urban mega-prison forever. In addition to experiencing a new storyline, fans can explore new environments and face-off against Harley’s all new gang of thugs. |
Batman: Arkham City (Game of the Year Edition)
Release Date: May 29. 2012
Xbox 360, PS3
This is a great deal for any one of you gamers out there (not me) that has not bought the DLC for Arkham City. Everything is included—yes, the new DLC too. If you have not bought the game yet, this is practically a steal.
