AAA: Android App-aholics Anonymous (Angry Birds)

App Title: Angry Birds
Usage:  A free game that will cost you more in lost productivity than any price the developer could put on it.
Price: Free

Get this app here on your Android device.

You want to know what’s great?  Of course you do.  What’s great is that in the iTunes store the game Angry Birds is $0.99 which is a great price for this game, however, if you are geeky enough to own an Android device this game is available on the Android Market for the great price of FREE.  The Android version of the game is ad supported, but I personally would rather see a few ads then have to pay for a game (I’m cheap).

As far as the game is concerned, it is amazing.  The object of the game is to use a slingshot and launch different types of birds at pigs that are sheltered in different types of structures; destroying them of course.  Angry Birds uses physics to calculate the impact of the launched birds and tears down the structures accordingly.  As you progress through the levels in Angry Birds you will earn different types of birds with different abilities (break into multiple birds in air, use a power boost in air, and even explode on command).  Each level gets a little harder than the last with puzzles ranging from simply knocking over a single wall to using perfect timing to trip multiple parts of a Rube Goldberg machine to destroy an entire army of swine in a matter of seconds.

If you have an Android device then there really aren’t a whole lot of reasons not to get this app (Free is a great motivator).  There is only one issue to getting Angry Birds, wave goodbye to all of your productivity.  Here are some screens of Angry Birds for you to look at while you’re waiting for it to download to your device (it is downloading, right).

PS. App-aholics has moved to Wednesdays now.
