Coming to Japan is a device that would allow PS3’s to schedule and record digital tv like any other dvr on the market. Users would be able to schedule recordings while playing games, watching other media, and even standby mode. Recorded content could then be kept on the system, transfered to a PSP or even sent to an external hard drive. The Tourne itself will sell for ¥9,980 (about $110) while the bundle containing the Tourne and a 250 gb hard drive will run residents in Japan ¥42,800 ($470).
The cable companies, with their feature poor DVRs, will do their best not to let this happen in the states but we can all hope, right?
